Growing a human being inside of you is hard work. Taking some time to relax, watch a good movie and enjoy feeling your little alien kick inside you is just what the doctor ordered. Here are my top 10 pregnancy movies to watch when you’re knocked up. (Hint: husbands secretly like them too, even if they don’t admit to it)

  1. WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING (2012)
    • A comedy following the lives of five interconnected couples experiencing the adventures of pregnancy and becoming parents. With an all star cast (Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick, Chris Rock, Dennis Quaid, Rebel Wilson), it’s hard not to love this movie.
  2. BABY MAMA (2008)
    • Tina Fey and Amy Poehler star in this one, which if that doesn’t already convince you to watch it, then I don’t know what will.
  3. JUNO (2007)
    • In this independent film, high schoolers (Ellen Page and Michael Cera) experience an unplanned pregnancy and decide to find a family (Jennifer Gardner and Jason Bateman) to adopt their baby.
  4. BRIDGET JONES’S BABY (2016)
    • If you’ve seen or read any of the Bridget Jones adventures, then this movie will put the icing on the cake for you.
  5. KNOCKED UP (2007)
    • Seth Rogan and Katherine Heigl show us the comedic side of getting knocked up. I mean, just imagine if Seth Rogan knocked you up.
  6. THE BACKUP PLAN (2010)
    • Jennifer Lopez (apparently she’s in two of these movies) gives up on finding a man and decides to take motherhood into her own hands… only to find the man of her dreams the same day of artificial insemination, awkward.
  7. AWAY WE GO (2009)
    • Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski star as a couple traveling around the country in search of the perfect place to start their family. Away We Go is a great pregnancy adventure movie.
  8. WHERE THE HEART IS (2000)
    • This one is a total tear jerker, following a pregnant women (Natalie Portman) who gets abandoned at a Walmart, later giving birth to her child in aisle 6.
  9. NINE MONTHS (1995)
    • A classic. Julianne Moore and Hugh Grant have different views toward pregnancy and marriage, but guess what?! She’s preggo, so get ready!
  10. HOW TO BE SINGLE (2016)
    • Hear me out on this one, it’s not totally about pregnancy, but there is a pregnant lady in it (Leslie Mann) who makes the whole movie that much better.
