I’m Pregnant? WTF

When you suddenly find yourself staring at a positive pregnancy test it can be either the most exciting or the most stressful moment of your life. You smile for a second, then have a minor panic attack, then your entire life (past, present and future) flashes through your mind. You may be asking yourself:

“Am I ready for this?” “How does one pump a breast?” “Is it weird if I have to wear diapers too?” “Can I get a mango milkshake with that?”

I’m here to tell you that it’s all going to be ok… or maybe not… but either way you will figure it out. So what’s step one? Here’s a list of the very first things you should do when you find out your knocked up:

  • Call your doctor to set up your first prenatal appointment
  • Start taking prenatal vitamins
  • Purchase a pregnancy book… my favorites:

  • Don’t look every little thing up on the internet – ask your doctor is something is really wrong
  • Develop a baby safe workout routine
  • Buy some fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Stop smoking, drinking and doing hardcore things
  • Tell the people you are comfortable with (no, you don’t HAVE to wait until 3 months… just tell people when YOU feel it’s right)
  • Get some sleep (while you still can)
  • Take a few breaths and enjoy the time you get to experience life growing inside of you
